About F & A Transmission Repair

Located at 226th St, Torrance, CA 90501, F & A Transmission Repair operates as an auto repair shop serving Torrance in California. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.

In Torrance, shops are busiest on Monday mornings and before holiday weekends, so a mid-week appointment gets a car seen faster. Labor rates across California vary by neighborhood and by shop type, from small independents to dealership service bays, and mobile mechanics now cover many routine jobs in the driveway. Before authorizing a repair, ask for the estimate in writing, whether the shop warranties parts and labor (12 months / 12,000 miles is common, some offer more), and whether it can provide a loaner or a shuttle. Check the listing for hours, the makes the shop works on and its Google rating, then call ahead, since walk-in capacity is limited at smaller shops.

No hours are on file. If you plan a visit, phone first or check the Google Maps link on this page for the latest times. You can reach F & A Transmission Repair at (310) 819-0371; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions.

On Google it holds a rating of 4.4 out of 5 from 14 reviews, which is a strong result for an auto repair shop in Torrance and suggests consistent service.

Torrance is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. This shop burned my car, then they said it already like that. I couldn’t believe the lies they told me, incredible! Absolutely horrible experience. Then after I picked up my car it had a completely different transmission than we had agreed. Don’t use this shop.

Gave me a great price, knew exactly what he was talking about, fixed my transmission sensor so I was then able to pass my smog test. Saved me over 1,000.00 .... Aamco wanted twice as much money for the same job. Excellent service!

I highly recommend this place based on this amazing experience I just had! I was in town for the holidays and my mom’s car had a leaky transmission from a crappy replacement job a few years ago. My friend recommended F&A because they service their work trucks there. My friend said they were very fairly priced and provide excellent service. I called and they told me to come in right away. I arrived and the place was packed with cars and technicians working! Alejandro, who is the A in F&A immediately came out and before I knew it the car was on jackstands and he was underneath the car removing the splash pan. In a matter of minutes, he had assessed the leak, which was a plug in the side of the transmission, and replaced the gasket. He showed and explained everything along the way. I did tell him I was a car guy so maybe he knew I knew what I was looking at. Bottom line I never expected him to work on it so quickly and take care of it so diligently. The most amazing part was that he only asked for $40! I gave them more of course, and a huge thank you! These guys are awesome and I cannot express how much I appreciate people who work hard like this, and are honest at the same time. Bas

Francisco & Alejandro are both very competent at their job. They have fixed many of mine and my family’s vehicles. They are professional and hard working. I’ve had bad experiences with other shops giving me the run around but they are spot on. Recommend 100%. Very humble and responsive.
